This modality provides two different types of current.
– Faradic type current – It is a short duration interrupted direct current with pulse duration of 0.1-1ms and frequency of 50-100Hz
– Interrupted direct current – On this type of current duration and frequency of the impulses can be adjusted, duration of 100ms being commonly used although it is often increased to 300-600ms.
Effect of EMS :

- Effect to enhance muscle contraction
