There are two types of nutrients :-
1. Major – Protein,Carbohydrates and fats
2. Micro – minerals
Calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, selenium.
3. Vitamins -A,D,E,K,C,B group
4. Water
- Carbohydrates from blood glucose and muscle and liver glycogen are the main sources of energy during high intensity exercise.
- Fat is the main energy source for low to moderate intensity exercise.
- Both the timing of meals and food eaten can affect exercise performance and recovery time.
- Protein promotes muscle growth and repair of muscle breakdown caused by exercise.
